Staff of Life
Stalks of grain
In the sea breeze
Leaning toward the lee.
Weight of grain
Bending down with fullness
Of the ripened seed.
Base of stalks
Encased in leaves
Connected to the earth.
They yield up
Their grain to me
For my sacred nourishment.
This staff of life
Reminds me again
Of my many blessings.
I too am |
Connected to the earth,
Filled with ripened seed,
Leaning toward the lee. |
